Case Study: Maintenance Advantages for Large Sites

Duo Consulting has worked with many clients for years, continuing to do maintenance and new project work with a changing cast of developers dedicated to those projects. Fusebox helps streamline that process internally, and has even allowed us to open up those projects so that we can work collaboratively with developers at the client sites.

What's New

Welcome to our New Website.

We at Team Fusebox have been working hard behind the scenes. Since our first meeting at the Frameworks conference in February, the team, lead by Michael Smith of Teratech has begun making strides in a lot of areas.

Look for this page to change regularly. Check back in with us often!

Fusebox 5.5 now Released

Fusebox 5.5 is officially released (as of December 1, 2007). There is currently an 18 page release notes document, that contains information on the new features in the core files. A concurrent release of the corresponding extensions (lexicons and scaffolding), is also available. This new release focuses on the themes of "Simplicity and Extensibility", which goes a long way towards making Fusebox easier for beginners to get into without losing the power and flexibility that long time users expect. To download the new release, go to The Core Files Page.

Marketing

Yes, we have a marketing team now. A group of individuals who are working to make Fusebox an everyday name, not just in programmers minds, but in your manager's as well.

Sample Applications

Our sample applications team is beginning to gel. They plan on releasing sample applications for current and new versions of Fusebox as well as more advanced samples. (For a list of sample applications currently existing, see our Sample Applications Section

Documentation

We know that the documentation (or lack thereof) has been a major issue for a lot of people. (It has been for us as well). Well our documentation team is hard at work. They've created a wiki at http://docs.fusebox.org to hold all the documentation that we can find (and create) on both old and new versions of Fusebox.

Articles

Articles, Tutorials and such are the lifeblood of learning how to use the framework. We have a team that is working on that as well. Look for new articles on this site.

Website

Last, but certainly not least, is the Fusebox Website. Not only is there a whole new look and content, but the website itself indicates a renewed promise to Fusebox. Since most of the website is content, the Fusebox Website team lead by Sandy Clark and Brian Kotek, decided to go with the Open Source FarCry CMS. Its been a challenge, but the look is there, the content is more easily managed and all members of Team Fusebox have the ability to go in and manage the content. We hope that a reinvigorated website holds a promise for a reinvigorated Fusebox Community. If you see problems with the website, open a ticket on our TRAC Site. The bug reporter isn't just for the core files.
